Hulk did have a fabulous Christmas and scored big in the present department. But mama didn't do so bad either. My parents got me a gift certificate for a massage, and some awesome stationary. They also got me a web cam that I really wanted so we can now Skype with them. So much fun! Monte and Kathy got me a gift card to use anyway I want and Heather got me a gift card to one of my favorite clothing stores. Hulk got me a cool new shirt and a necklace. Yes I was thrilled with all of it!
This year I decided I was also going to get myself a gift. So I gifted myself a gym membership. According to the scales at the doctor's office since Hulk was born almost three years ago I have lost 72 pounds now. I knew I was losing some here and there but until he told me the amount I didn't realize how much it was. While I still need to lose about 50 more pounds I also need to do some serious toning. I'm not kidding when I tell you that when I wave to people I about knock myself out. My flabby arms look like chicken wings. I have to do some toning. So off to the gym I go. We will see if I can get the arm flab under control soon.
That would be a great gift!

Wonderful Weekend
This has been such a wonderful weekend! Sesame Street Live was fabulous! Hulk was on best behavior and danced and clapped and had a grand time. I've never seen him so excited yet contained and focused before. He didn't miss a thing. They even did a couple of his favorite songs and he sang along and clapped. It really was a good show. It lasted a full 90 minutes and the lighting, dancing, and effects were really great. My sister and I had a good time too. My camera was on the list of cameras not allowed in the arena so I don't have any pics. My sister took a few but I haven't seen them yet. If they turned out I'll post them later.
Today was gorgeous out which was very nice. Today is the start of Walk Kansas which is an 8 week walking event that I'm a part of. I am on a team with 5 other people and we have to track how far we walk and how many fruits and veggies we eat every day. We are competing against about 40 other teams in our town. We have to walk or work out a minimum of 2 1/2 hours a week which equals 10 walk Kansas miles. Today Hulk and I took two walks for a total of 5 miles and we played like crazy in the backyard. That boy loves to be outside! So who knows between Walk Kansas and chasing him around I might lose some weight this spring.
The sleep challenge continues to go very well. In fact last week I lost 6 pounds and did nothing right eating or exercise wise. I really do believe that getting enough sleep helps me to not eat as much during the day and that of course means losing weight. So who knew that just getting enough sleep could kick start a diet!
Okay off to fold the laundry that I put off while playing in the great outdoors.

Walking
My walks are starting to get boring.... I try to add new music to my ipod to listen too but that just isn't cutting it anymore. So I thought I might try a podcast. Do any of you listen to any good podcasts. I've never tried it before and there seem to be about a million out there. Anyone have any suggestions??? I'm afraid that if it keeps being boring I'll give up and throw in the towel.

A Confession
I have a confession to make. While it is a bit embarassing it is time to tell the truth. I cannot ride a bike! I don't mean that I don't like riding bike. I don't mean that I won't ride a bike. I mean I can't ride a bike! I seriously had training wheels on my bike until I was 12 years old. And since my Dad took the training wheels off I have maybe rode a bike 3 times and fell off every time. I obviously have a problem with balance!
This is actually really bugging me. While The Hulk and I love going on walks I would really like to take him on bike rides. I wanna put him in a bike cart and ride around. But that just isn't going to happen. Or is it?
Today I saw someone riding this cool adult tricycle! It was awesome! It was some guy on the college campus. He was riding all around on it. So cool! So I came home and tracked it down online. Here it is.

And here is the link to the website that sells them. I so want one! And I got to thinking that since I can't ride a bike my Dad saved lots of money over the years on bikes for me. Some kids go through lots of bikes. So since he saved all that money maybe he could buy the trike for me! Don't you think that is a great idea! So Cricket I know you read this! Please have Dad order me the trike in blue! The Hulk and I will be waiting. :-)

Our New Ride
A year ago I was driving a kick ass Mercury Mountaineer. That vehicle was a little bit of heaven. It had heated seats, a sun roof, an amazing stereo system, leather, a beautiful gold paint job and a DVD player! I loved my Mountie! Now I drive an HHR. It's a boring predictable mom mobile. The payment is cheap and it gets great gas mileage. Sometimes the stereo works, it's easy to load a baby in and out and there is nothing flashy about it at all.
But this week I started driving something new. Something amazing! I finally have the high end flash back in my life. I am now the proud owner of the InStep Safari Jogging Stroller!!!! Check this baby out!

Not only does this stroller hold a 28 pound one year old comfortably with lots of room to grow but it came in this hip modern pattern. I love the turquoise and orange and brown! Rocking! And it has a sunroof! How cool is that! It also has cup holders for me and plenty of storage compartments! I can fit the diaper bag, my camera bag, and some other stuff in the bottom of it. Another feature is the adjustable handle bar! Every stroller should have an adustable handle bar. That makes it so much easier and comfortable to push. This stroller makes The Hulk and I very happy on our walks/jogs.

I also love the strollometer! It tells me the time, temperature, how long we have been walking, our average speed, and the distance we have traveled. AWESOME! Who needs a mountaineer when you can be cool like me with the InStep Stroller.

So things have changed and I'm not the coolest girl anymore. But I would like to think I'm a pretty cool mom. And even if I'm not this guy thinks I'm pretty cool all the time!

Walk This Way
The Hulk and I have been going on lots of walks lately! We take a walk every evening now. We have developed a nice little routine. He loves being outside and I need the exercise so it's a win win for both of us! He also really relaxes during our walks so it's a nice way to end his day. By the time we get home it's time for a bath and bed and he goes right to sleep. I've also been sleeping better since I've been getting the regular exercise.
It's also been so nice to get to know some of the people along our walking route. There are several folks that we see each evening and they are so friendly to us. One older lady is always sitting on her porch when we walk by and she always says the same thing, "He is still so cute." I love that lady. And there is an older man that always waves to us and asks how we are. There is a middle school age boy that always tells his dog not to bark at us and waves to us. Nice kid. So it's been a really great thing for us. We are meeting new people and that is never a bad thing.
So I think we will keep this walking thing up. Who knows it might make my butt smaller.

Wii Fit

I have the Wii Fit and I really enjoy it. I'm a hula hoop champion and I've even gotten the step aerobics figured out. That is a quite a feat considering what a klutz I am. I'm digging the Wii but I don't use it near enough. I have a problem sticking with it. Image that. I'm thinking that my problem with sticking with exercise is directly correlated to the fat sticking to my butt. Hmmmmmmmm
So I'm trying really hard to make myself stick with it. And it doesn't even have to be the Wii. I'm really trying to stick with 30 minutes of exercise a day. No matter what else is going on I just need to do it. So any tips for staying motivated. Any really great ideas or things you are doing that seem to help you.... I'm struggling to stay focused and with it. Any suggestions?
